Next DocoPhoto tour takes us to the Windward side! Saturday, July 29th, 10am-noon we take on the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park administration building.

This 1964 gem was designed by Wimberly, Whisenand, Allison and Tong. Their goal was to reflect heiau elements to symbolize “the role of Hawaii as the host culture.” Modernism in Hawaii was at its peak in the 1960s and George Wimberly was a leader in designing buildings that today are looked upon as regionally appropriate in the modern vernacular.

There will be a presentation of the history of the project and of the future of the temple. Parking is free. Please bring your camera, comfortable shoes and water.

After the tour, we invite you to contribute your photos of the Valley of the Temples here: http://bit.ly/2abqQUi.
